Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the tragic attack on civilians in Pahalgam, reminded the Nation once again of the unwavering courage and sacrifice of our armed forces. In the wake of this, on 21st May, 2025, Honorable Founder Chancellor, LPU and Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal proudly announced the Jai Jawan Scholarship - a heartfelt initiative offering 100% tuition fee waiver to active personnel of the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force), Paramilitary (CRPF, ITBP, BSF, SSB, CISF, NSG, Assam Rifles) Forces & SPG enrolling in LPU Online undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal mentioned, “No amount of salutes are ever enough to honour the bravery and sacrifices of our defence and paramilitary Forces."

This scholarship is a meaningful gesture of national support, launched to honour the bravery and sacrifice of our armed forces after Operation Sindoor, where our soldiers responded quickly and bravely to the tragic attack on civilians in Pahalgam.

As per theUGC-DEB Public Noticedated 19th August 2024, it is mandatory for all learners to generate a DEB-ID using their ABC ID before enrolling in any Online programmes.

To apply for this scholarship, please fill out the form provided at the top of this page. Once we receive your interest, we will share another form link with you where you’ll need to upload the documents listed below for eligibility verification.

Admission Eligibility

Applicants must meet the programme-specific eligibility criteria as prescribed by the University.
Applicants must comply with UGC-DEB guidelines, including mandatory generation of ABC ID and UGC-DEB ID.

Document Verification

Scholarships will be awarded only after successful verification of the required documents. Applicants should send scanned copy of Original documents.
Failure to submit required documents within the stipulated time will lead to cancellation of the scholarship.

Fee Coverage

100% Tuition Fee waiver applicable on

  • Examination Fee
  • Degree and consolidated marksheet (upon completion of programme)
The Scholarship fully covers all programme-related expenses, with no additional charges applicable under normal circumstances.
However, in the event that a candidate avails any extra services due to deviations from the academic calendar, non-adherence to progression timelines, failure in examination, change of mind regarding a chosen specialization, or has special requests like issuance of specially needed certificates, the applicable charges, if any, will need to be borne by the candidate. For eg., fee for reappear examination, re-evaluation, programme transfer, change of specialization, etc.

Progression Requirements

Learners must appear for the End Term Examinations to be promoted to the next term.

Duration

Benefit of Scholarship is for the normal/minimum duration of the programme, with an extension of 6 months.
However, if a candidate takes more than normal/minimum duration to pass the programme, including the six months extension, he will not be entitled for the Scholarship benefits for any period beyond the prescribed duration.

Integrity and Conduct

Any case of misrepresentation, concealment, or false information will lead to cancellation of admission and scholarship.
Only learners who:
Have not faced disciplinary action
Have not been charged with academic misconduct or use of unfair means will remain eligible for scholarship continuation.

Final Authority

Admission and scholarship decisions rest solely with the competent authority of the University and are not claimable as a matter of right.

Uncovered Scenarios

In case of any matter not covered here and for interpretation of any content of this scholarship scheme, the decision of the competent authority of the University shall be final and binding on all concerned.
